A baby bed canopy is a popular way to add dimension and color to a childs nursery or crib. While adding style, baby bed canopies also offer function. A canopy can regulate light in your childs eyes, reduce drafts coming into the crib, and provide something fun and colorful for your little one to look at.

There are a couple of ways to hang a baby bed canopy.
- Many parents prefer to hang a canopy from the crib itself. A metal frame attaches to the tops of the posts and is designed to have the fabric secured to it. In order to ensure that this is safe for children, the corner posts should be at least 16 inches high, so that babies cannot pull the canopy on top of themselves, or get their clothing caught on a short post.
- Another charming look is to hang the canopy from the ceiling. The baby bed canopy can be shorter in length on one side of the circumference to partially hang over the crib, and longer on another side of the circumference to hang lower and block light. Ensure that the longer portion of the canopy is not close enough to the crib for a child to pull it down on top of him or herself.

If you are having trouble getting your young child to sleep in his or her own bed, a bed canopy may be a fast solution. A childs bed canopy defines their bed space and helps them to feel protected. Popular bed canopies for girls often are made of soft, sheer fabric, and typically drape romantically over the bed's canopy frame. Boys' canopies are not as popular, but most little tikes will find a lot of fun in a tent canopy over their bed. With darker fabrics, for example navy or a camouflage pattern, hung over the bed in a tent-like fashion, little men will be excited for bedtime. Your child might enjoy crawling under his or her bed canopy to feel more protected.
